Treatment

Laser tattoo removal- It is an advanced treatment which is designed specifically to eliminate tattoos completely, without leaving scars or unpigmented areas of skin behind.

During the procedure, the laser’s high energy lights breaks up the tattoo ink into small particles, which are slowly absorbed by the skin. The procedure may cause a bit discomfort, but a local anesthesia can be used to reduce the pain.

After a laser tattoo removal treatment, little side effects such as red and tender skin may develop; however, they diminish within three to seven days.

Traditional Methods

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) - Intense pulsed light emits pulses of the light onto the skin, eliminating the tattoo much like a laser treatment. This procedure is said to be most effective and less painful, but it is expensive.

Surgical Excision- In the procedure, the tattoo is cut off and the skin is sewn back together. This method leaves a scar behind.

Dermabrasion- During the treatment, your skin is sanded away, leaving a scar or pale area.

Home Treatments- These include lotions and creams designed to make tattoo less visible. Home treatments are not for completely eliminate a tattoo, but can help to fade it.

Generally, traditional methods mentioned above are used when laser tattoo removal is not an option.
