Procedure

During the procedure, the surgeon makes an incision either underneath the breast, above the crease, around the lower edge of the areola or within the armpit. After the incision, your surgeon creates a pocket to insert the implant. The implant is then places in the pocket. The type and size of the breast implant is generally determined by the goals for breast enhancement, existing body frame and breast tissue. All breast implants involve a solid silicone rubber outer shell called a lumen.
